The Love God Hates, 1 John 2:12-17

Presented by Dan Kidha

November 16, 2008, 6:04 am

We were privileged to have Kidha Dan Kidha preach this morning. He is Kenyan and graduated from Scott Theological College a few years ago. He reminded us that there is a love that God hates. When we love the world the love of God is not in us. Our affections and commitments cannot be torn; only loving God will do.

Liar, Lunatic or Lord? Mark 3:20-35

Presented by Jace Broadhurst

November 9, 2008, 7:37 am

Most people admit that Jesus was a good man. They respect his morals and even try to model some of their life around principles that he taught. What this sermon seeks to show is that Jesus could not have merely been a good man. A good man would not deceive people into believing that he was God. A liar is not a good person. Neither was he deluded as psychiatrists universally agree. If he was neither a liar nor a lunatic, then the only other option open to us is that he was what he said he was--Lord

The World Changing Power of the Twelve, Mark 3:7-18

November 3, 2008, 5:46 am

Mark introduces us to the twelve men who will change the world and in so doing calls us to experience that which an apostle is called to. Jesus called them and us to do two things: to be with Him and to be sent out. To rest in the joy of what He is and to go forth and continue the mop up of evil by proclaiming His reign.

Good Baptists, Little Rule Book, Mark 2:23 - 3:7

Presented by Jace Broadhurst

October 26, 2008, 10:56 am

Breaking the sabbath law. Definitely a no-no, but Jesus did it with boldness twice. There is so much here but at least two things must be heard with clarity. First, Christians are not to be defined by our little rules that we hold so dear. We must be careful that mercy trumps our natural legalism. Second, Jesus is Lord over the Sabbath. He created it, rules over it and is the fulfillment of it. The sabbath is still very important, but we are defined primarily by the blood of Christ who kept the law perfectly.
