The Listening Church: The Message of Deuteronomy

Presented by Jonathan Leeman

July 22, 2007, 7:30 am

Our guest preacher, Rev. Jonathan Leeman, this morning took us on a tour of Deuteronomy emphasizing that God wants his people to listen and obey him. This sermon was the summation of our "What is a healthy church' conference put on by 9mark ministries.

Developing Our Vision for the Majesty of God

July 15, 2007, 7:30 am

What many churches lack is a vision for the greatness of God. At Sinai, God revealed himself to his people and this theophany was so powerful and scary that the people begged for Moses to mediate. We serve this same God and we dare not come to him casually and flippantly. We can, however, approach him boldly because we do have a better mediator. Part of the Exodus series.

Treasured Possession

July 8, 2007, 7:31 am

If there is anyone who feels the weight of their sin and the guilt of never measuring up, please listen up. The heart of Gods relationship is found here in Exodus 19:4-6 and it is here that he calls us a kingdom of priests, a holy nation and what was emphasized the most in this sermon--a special treasure. Hopefully this will be a reminder for all the miserable failures out there who do not live up to Gods law (that everybody), that Christ kept the law perfectly and took our punishment allowing us to truly be something special to God. Hopefully this will be a comfort for those who just cant get it right. Part of the Exodus series.

Biblical Church Leadership: Moses and His Helpers

July 1, 2007, 7:32 am

Our church is transitioning into an elder led structure and this sermon is an attempt to persuade the hearer that this structure is biblical and therefore best for our church. Israel chose elders from among themselves and they were consecrated to do the work of leadership and to help Moses in his task. We too have a need for men who fear God to lead Christs church and point others to He who is our great leader. Part of the Exodus series.
