Parable of the Tenants (Mark 11:27-12:12This week our worship is prompted by a parable that Jesus told about some tenant farmers who treated the owner of their rented vineyard despicably. They beat, mocked and even killed his servants and finally they even killed his son. This is a story about remarkable grace that seems to have no end and then it is about a very real end -- the destruction of the farmers. The vineyard has been handed over to new tenants and the question I think Mark implies to us, is "what will we do with the vineyard?" "What will we do with the life we have been given?"
