Not Far from the Kingdom of God (Mark 12:28-34)

Charles Wesley spent his whole life fervently obeying the commands of God. But he didn't know God. I wonder how many people do all the right things but don't really know God. This message from Mark 12, is about a scribe who will come and ask Jesus to summarize the law. His answer is beautiful and glorious. But this man, who spent his life "knowing" God, was still outside the kingdom. If you have friends that know all the right theological words, and can sing all the hymns without looking and live decent and moral lives, but you sincerely wonder if they know Jesus, the king of the universe, this might be a good sermon to listen to or to give to them.
